Established in 2018, Local 3080 and the IAFF helped lay the groundwork for a structured program in which our very own members were trained and certified in becoming an official Peer Group system for our members. Together we can help each other heal the wounds sustained on the job. Who else knows how you are feeling on the inside other than a brother or sister who has walked in your very shoes. All matters discussed with our members are 100% confidential and we are committed to bridging the gap that exists between you and a qualified mental health specialist.
*A duty to act will always be a part of the peer support foundation if we believe that the member could potentially harm themselves or others.

I have learned firsthand, during my last 10 years of service that stress can take a toll on your life if not managed correctly . Utilizing the resources and peer support that we have here in Tamarac, I was able to personally overcome my own troubles. I believe that the mental health of a firefighter is just as important as their physical health.
