Newly appointed Andy Fernandez is currently serving as the official Chaplain of Tamarac Fire Rescue.

​

Rev. Luis A. Fernandez serves as a Senior Chaplain and member of the Behavioral Health and Peer (BHAP) Task Force, as well as the Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) Team, for various jurisdictions throughout the State of Florida. With over three decades of leadership in ministry, community service, and organizational management, he has dedicated his life to supporting first responders, faith communities, and individuals in crisis.

 

He is the Chairman of the Chaplaincy Corps Incorporated, a nonprofit organization based in Coral Springs, and the Senior Pastor of I AM Ministries International Inc., which focuses on international and local missions, the development of ministry leaders, and counseling. His diverse professional background also includes executive management roles in both the healthcare and retail sectors, with a focus on loss prevention and forensic auditing.

 

Rev. Fernandez holds multiple academic and professional credentials, including FEMA certification in Disaster and Emergency Management, an Associate Degree in Business Administration from Miami Dade College, and theological studies through the National Association of Christian Ministers and Berean University. He is an active member of both the International Conference of Police Chaplains and the Federation of Fire Chaplains.

 

Recognized for his outstanding community service, Rev. Fernandez is a recipient of the Coral Springs Lynne Johnson Award and a graduate of the 40th Coral Springs Civilian Police Academy.
